Donald Trump announced Saturday night that he would nominate conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court, ushering in an explosive political period as the proposal comes just before the November 3 election.
Justice Barrett is known for her conservative views, such as her opposition to abortions and her position that she will consolidate a strong conservative majority with 6 seats to 3 Democrats on the Supreme Court.
