United States President Donald Trump today ordered senior United States government officials to assist Italy in its battle with the new crown by providing it with medical supplies, humanitarian aid and other assistance.
In a memorandum to several ministers, Trump ordered that various measures be taken to help Italy, including the deployment of US military personnel stationed in the country available for telemedicine services, assistance in setting up field hospitals and transporting supplies.
Italy has recorded nearly 19,000 deaths from Covid-19, a respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus, more than any other country.
