Authorities have told residents never to drink from Lake Jackson and the boy, named Josiah McIntyre, is alleged to have made the disastrous mistake.
“I am angry and upset, sad and devastated. I want to know how my son came into contact with this thing that killed him. I know he will not come back. We want to know how it turned out,” said the boy’s mother, Maria.
Josiah died in hospital after suffering a brain infection from the amoeba Naegleria fowleri.
