Given that the new cases show a constant upward trend and we do not know when we will reach the peak of the pandemic in this second wave of the coronavirus, the government and experts are calling for quarantine to decongest the National Health System.

The new stricter lockdown for coronavirus

This means that citizens will be able to move during this period not only to go to and from work, due to health problems, but also to take their pet a short distance from home.

Practically, for the hours from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am the next morning, it is still required to send an SMS to 13033, but it is valid only for code 1 (in case of travel for health reasons) and the code 6 (accompanied by a pet). Of course, employees will also be able to travel with the corresponding employer certificate.

Supermarket hours are changing

Meanwhile, as Deputy Minister of Development Nikos Papathanasis announced on Thursday, the opening hours in supermarkets will change from Monday.

Supermarkets will close on 20:30 from Monday and Sunday November 15 will not openDeputy Minister of Development and Investment, Nikos Papathanasis, told ERT.

“At this time the flow is normal and there is enough, there is no reason for them to open on Sunday,” said Mr. Papathanasis, clarifying that today and tomorrow they will operate until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday normally until 8:00 p.m. . The measure will take effect during the confinement.

Normally delivery after 21:00, which applies to take away

As clarified on Wednesday, home delivery and take away services in operational stores (take away) from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. will operate normally, according to an announcement by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.

Specifically, the announcement says:

Regarding the take away and delivery operation between the hours of 21: 00-05: 00, we clarify that there is no problem of prohibiting delivery services during these hours (delivery) during these hours.

We also clarify that the collection in stores in operation continues after 21:00 and during all their opening hours, but not as an independent reason to move, but within the movements allowed during these hours.

Example: if a citizen travels during those hours returning from work, he can stop at a restaurant to take away.
