“From day one, the government has made human life a priority,” Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos said.
The minimum percentage of teleworking in companies should be 50%, without increasing the existing limit, stressed the minister.
According to Mr. Theodorikakos in the state we must do everything possible to:
- Operation with absolutely necessary personnel.
- Teleworking as much as possible and in no case less than 50%
- The administration is obliged to ensure that officials belonging to vulnerable groups stay at home, either by teleworking or on leave.
- Parents can stay home either on a 25% reduced schedule, or by arrangement, or by using a leave of absence, so that one parent is home with their children.
From Monday it is valid for everyone and for the parents of children who go to primary school.
Similar measures are applied to employees of private companies, the Ministry of Labor announced.
Public employees who have a personal presence in the service must deal with the public, by appointment, as is the case to date.
Local government must make a decisive contribution, especially to vulnerable groups.
He also highlighted that municipal and private nurseries will be closed from Monday.
Structures that will be closed for the next two weeks can greatly benefit from home help.
I want to call, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs said, the governors and mayors to help with the controls. We give them with legislative intervention, to use and utilize the control mechanisms. We are giving an additional 60 million to support these actions.
