The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, carried out a highly symbolic maneuver, in which a few minutes ago she was given the first dose of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine against the coronavirus, at the “Evangelismos” hospital.
“Science has given our greatest gift this Christmas. All these researchers around the world who worked hard and spent perhaps nights in agony trying to get the vaccine ready to face the pandemic in time, as soon as possible, as soon as possible. And the European Union, which managed to distribute the first quantities to all member states so that vaccination could begin, has thus shown that it is also a community of solidarity, ”said the President of the Republic.
He added that we can never thank the medical and nursing staff and all the hospital staff, who in addition to the work they offer all this time will now have to attend and the vaccination program to be able to implement it in the best possible way.
But this time, now, next to the agony, a smile of optimism can nest. That is why it is very important to get vaccinated as naturally as possible in the program that will be implemented and with the instructions of the doctors so that we can win, get out of this adventure, recover our lives, recover our freedom. “To meet again, to embrace ours”, stressed Ms Sakellaropoulou.
