The new measures in Attica: Masks in construction sites and squares – Entertainment centers close for 14 days – Society

The Government announced new measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus at the suggestion of the Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Health.

The Trikala region is under epidemiological surveillance for two weeks. In the region, the 50-person measure is valid for public / social events, as well as the prohibition of the operation of health food stores from midnight to 7 a.m.

As announced by Nikos Hardalias, the measurements in Attica are as follows:

• Concerts exclusively for those seated at 50% occupancy with mandatory use. mask. Smoking and drinking alcohol is prohibited.
• For stores of health interest with live music and closed concert halls, their operation is suspended for 14 days.
• 60% occupancy limit in theaters, cinemas and summer cinemas with mandatory use of masks.
• Mandatory mask in all closed workplaces and in public places. such as bus stops and squares, where the distance of 1.5 meters cannot be observed.
• Mandatory use of mask for public markets with a distance of 3 meters between the stalls and coverage with 50% of the producers.
• 6 person limit for table seating in health food stores.
• The number of 50 people is maintained at weddings and baptisms.
• Retail remains open at 10 am
• There is a recommendation for the widespread use of the mask in people over 65 years of age.

The decision was political and followed the advice of the committee. Measurements are valid from September 16 to 30.

“The measures taken for Attica are aimed at limiting the spread of the epidemic in the region,” said EKPA associate professor Gikas Majorkinis, who stated that there are 3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Attica.

Regarding local closures at the municipal level, Hardalias said vertical measures cannot be taken in a metropolitan area like Athens.

We remind you that 310 new cases were announced in the country on Tuesday, of which 197 were detected in the Attica Region, which is a record.
