Reactions
Two of the eight ministerial amendments, one by Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias on administrative issues related to the organization of vaccinations and the second by Deputy Prime Minister Stelios Petsas on provisions to amend and supplement the provisions on advertising in the media , were voted by the majority of the ND, while all the opposition parties abstained in protest because they said they did not have time to study them to take a position.
Previously, the opposition (SYRIZA, KIN.ALL., KKE, MERA25) denounced the bill on both procedure and substance, criticizing the government for undermining vaccination itself. The reactions to the legislative change were provoked by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Theodoros Skylakakis, who “cuts” the announced regulation of debts with local authorities with the argument that it should be limited only to those affected by the pandemic.
Tsipras Fierce Attack
Addressing the debate on a multi-bill bill – Ministry of Health broom, Alexis Tsipras once again accused the government of legislating logically “spray-clean-finish” not only in terms of this bill, but more broadly for the bills in the periods of the pandemic.
“Democracy cannot be quarantined,” he said, adding that his party would ask for a parliamentary agenda on democracy, transparency and accountability, so that the government could provide explanations for the misuse of public money, direct allocations and public contracting. , which so far has refused to disclose, rejecting the pertinent proposal to the Institutions and Transparency Commission to prioritize audits ”.
