The new cases of the new virus in the country amount to 2,166, of which 22 are related to outbreaks and 40 were detected after controls at the country’s entry gates, EODY announced today.
The total number of cases is 44,246, of which 54.7% are men. 4,225 (9.5%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 14,111 (31.9%) are related to an already known case.
169 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 65. 38 (22.5%) are women and the rest are men. 89.3% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older.
300 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
Finally, we have 13 more registered deaths and 655 deaths in total in the country, 255 (38.9%) women and the rest men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.3% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
As announced by the committee’s infectious disease specialist Gikas Majorkinis, of the 2,166 new cases 542 were recorded in the Attica region, 595 in the Thessaloniki region, 108 in the Rodopi region, 106 in the Larissa region and 78 in the Pella region.
