Uber driver Alexsander Bonhchev had chased James Mallett, 35, into a nightclub. England.
The 35-year-old “aired” at some point in the back seat, along with his friends, something that was the icing on the cake for the Bulgarian driver, who was tired of the company’s drunken makeup.
So he stopped the cab and told also drunk Mallett to get out. According to his court Bristol boardMallett obeyed and got out of the taxi, but wanted to fight the driver.
That’s why he hit him first. Bonchev got out and responded, knocking the customer down. However, he claimed he was in “legitimate defense”.
The judge, however, did not find this amusing at all. He sentenced Mallett to six months in prison, a 500,500 fine, and 120 hours of community service. Prosecutor David Scutt, however, claimed that the driver was the first to hit the customer.
But things didn’t go well for Bonchev either. According to his lawyer, that night he broke his finger.
Then he had to quit his job and couldn’t pay the taxi or the rent. He ended up unemployed and was forced to return to his hometown, Bulgaria.
According to his lawyer, according to “Bristol Live”: “Mr. Bonchev suffered a broken finger, could not work, lost his place at Uber, lost his home, lost his car. And all this because he did his job that night “…
