In the 2020 parade, the government is considering giving one type of social dividend: an extraordinary Christmas gift to two categories of citizens.
Who are they; Low-income retirees and healthcare providers are struggling to contain the deadly virus.
The extension of the confinement for a week, as announced by the government spokesman Stelios Petsas, raises the bill since the extensions in the work suspensions will be massive and for which the state will be asked to pay part of December with the allocation of 800 euros .
At the same time, the repayable advance measure went unexpectedly well. Today the third payment will be made and more than 600 million euros will be paid, which were initially not budgeted.
The financial staff estimated that the fourth phase of the repayable advance will absorb around 1,200 million euros.
However, the effort of the Ministry of Finance to find funds for an extraordinary Christmas gift: Social Dividend has not been abandoned.
But what about low-income pensioners and healthcare workers?
- When it comes to low-income retirees, there is a problem with those who did not retire. One scenario wants the extraordinary Christmas gift to be given to those who have lost EKAS or old-age pension recipients.
- The situation in hospitals across the country is difficult with health workers at the forefront of the battle and now the government is seeking resources to announce emergency aid like the one given at Easter.
