At the heart of the coronavirus are hospitals, with hundreds of suspected cases in outpatient clinics, dozens entering for treatment every day, and intensive care units filling up one after another.

According to the Ministry of Health, of the 107 intensive care beds for coronavirus in Attica, 62 are occupied. In the morning another 14 ICU beds were assigned for covid cases. At Evangelismos 24 people are treated in the intensive care unit and new beds are added every day.

In Sotiria 27 people are fighting for their lives in the intensive care unit. In Evangelismos, on-call people with suspicious symptoms are huddled in an outpatient setting with other patients. Mr. Giannis waited in line for 1.5 hours outside hospitals with a fever, among unsuspecting patients.

Although hospitals are on alert, in the largest hospital in the country there is no separation of patients, the risk of dispersion being high.

The Evangelismos workers are asking for recruitment to deal with the situation. At the same time, the health authorities of the state of Nice announced that they will no longer accept patients with coronavirus, since the deficiencies are many and the risk of spread in the hospital is visible.
