Horror scenes unfolded in Nice, France, after a knife attack near Notre Dame church
A woman expresses fears who was beheaded during the knife attack It took place around 9 a.m. local time in Nice, southern France, city police confirmed.
The perpetrator, who according to the mayor of the city repeated the phrase “Allahu Akbar” (God is the Most High), was arrested and taken to hospital.
The attack took place near or inside the church of Notre Dame and took the lives of three people and injured many others, according to the city’s mayor, Christian Estrozi.

The far-right politician Marin Le Pen, speaking to journalists at the French parliament in Paris, also referred to a “beheading” during the attack.
The mayor commented on Twitter “Terrorist attack.
It is not yet clear what the motive of the perpetrator was or whether the attack was related to the satirical sketches of Muhammad, which Muslims consider blasphemous.
