Tensions erupted today in the Athens mixed jury courtroom, before which the trial for the murder of Eleni Topaloudi is being tried.
The arrival in the room of the adviser of the Athens Bar Association, George Kleftodimou, protesting against yesterday’s statement in the speech of the prosecutor of the Aristotle University of Doga, was the subject of his presence in court and even the speech of his lawyers.
Mr. Kleftodimos asked headquarters for the flat, below. announcement by the president of the plenary session of the Greek bar associations Dimitris Vervesou, who requests the disciplinary control of the prosecutor of the Court, to protest, as he said, by what Ms. Doga mentioned in her speech about the role of lawyers.
Holding Mr. Vervesos’ announcement in his hand, Mr. Kleftodimos stated that the prosecutor’s expressions “directly and coercively insult all lawyers.”
The president tried to impose an order by pointing out to the adviser that he had no voice and that “there are other departments to express their complaints, this is not the right place.”
Mr. Kleftodimos replied: “I am protesting against the abuse of the Attorney General.”
The prosecutor immediately requested the floor, indicating that she would proceed with a statement of abstention.
There was a lot of tension in the audience, with some of those present, such as Mr. Topaloudis, protesting aloud at the presence of Mr. Kleftodimos in the hall.
The president immediately demanded that those who screamed leave the court and adjourned the trial.
However, the spirit calmed down, calm prevailed and the prosecutor finally did not make a statement of abstention and the trial continues with the speeches of the defenders of the accused.
However, headquarters appears determined to complete the process today and proceed with the issuance of a decision.
