The “explosion” of coronavirus cases brought new emergency measures to limit the spread of the virus, with Nikos Hardalias announcing decisions made by the government following suggestions from experts.
It is noted that today we had a negative record of coronavirus cases for 2021, since the EODY announced 2,702 new infections.
Thus, from the morning (06:00) of Thursday (4/3) until the morning (06:00) of Tuesday (16/3), new data will be applied with the movements of citizens.
Specifically in the six reasons to move around the country differences it will be in codes 2, 3 and 6.
For code 2 that goes to supermarkets and essential shops, but also for code 3 related to the transition to banks or public services. the transfer will take place within the corresponding municipality or up to two kilometers from the residence.
For code 6 the movement It will only be done on foot or by bicycle in the whole country and no one can go to another area.
For code 4 concerning the provision of assistance the auditors will ask for more information from tomorrow.
The traffic ban is changing
At the same time, the traffic ban is updated, which is formulated as follows:
At the increased risk level (red) it is valid from 9 at night to 5 in the morning, while at the very high risk level (intense red) from 19 to 5 in the morning.
With the exception of the Attica Region and the Thessaloniki Regional Unit, where the traffic ban during the week (Monday to Friday) is established from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., due to the metropolitan nature of these areas.
The areas that entered the “deep red”
The “deep red” includes Attica, Achaia, Arcadia, Thessaloniki, Larissa, Lefkada except Meganisi, Phthiotida, Argolida, Corinth, Thesprotia, Arta, Samos, Beotia, Chios, Etoloakarnania, Rhodes, Heraklion and Evia except.
All other areas are in “red”.
There is an exception for Larissa. since the measures will take effect on March 6 due to the earthquake.
For areas that will turn “deep red”: religious services will be held without believers, while weddings, baptisms and memorials will be suspended.
In bright red there is a lifetime suspension of the operation of all school units.
What about sports?
With regard to sports at the very high risk level (bright red), the following now apply:
- Suspension of the operation and use of organized sports facilities.
- Excludes the operation of sports facilities for training sessions and games without the presence of spectators: a) of the teams participating in the soccer championships of the National men’s category A ‘and B’ (Superliga I and Superliga II), in the A championships category ‘men’s basketball (basketball league) and category A’ men’s volleyball (men’s volleyball league) and only in European competitions, in accordance with the special protocols of the relevant international federations. All other tournaments are suspended for the next few days.
In any case, the application of the above exceptions is only possible if a health protocol is followed that includes a mandatory weekly and before each race, the screening of athletes for COVID-19 with antigen testing by accredited laboratories.
