In particular, according to forecasts, strong local storms are expected to occur during the hours of noon on Monday afternoon in the prefecture of Attica and in the city of Athens.
The rains that occurred in various parts of the country until this morning are expected to continue mainly on the Ionian, Western, Macedonia, Thrace and parts of the Northeast Aegean islands.
The phenomena, according to forecast data from the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr, will be locally intense, especially in the west, where at night they can be accompanied by hail.
The total rain heights are expected until Monday night and the areas of the strongest phenomena are marked.
Starting Sunday night, a bad weather front will be staged across western Greece. The front, moving east, will affect the entire country on Monday, with heavy rains and thunderstorms in the lowlands and heavy snowfall in the mainland’s mountains.
As the front moves further east, less intense local rains will continue to fall in parts of western and northern Greece. Locally strong storms will occur on Monday in Attica prefecture and especially in the city of Athens.
