Halkidiki is dancing to the rhythm of tonight’s eclipse, with a new strong seismic vibration of 5.2 on the Richter scale that occurs in the early hours of Sunday, 01:50, in the sea area of Mount Athos.
The reminder that the intense seismic activity in the area began on Saturday, September 26, the same day that the deadly earthquake in Halkidiki occurred 88 years ago with 161 deaths, did not cause any remorse.
In particular, according to the announcement of the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the epicenter of the vibration is in the sea 22 kilometers south-southwest of Mount Athos.
The earthquake occurred 226 kilometers north / northeast of Athens.
Several aftershocks followed, the strongest measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale.
Earlier on Saturday night, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred with roughly the same epicenter.
Deadly earthquake exactly 88 years ago
The deadly Halkidiki earthquake exactly 88 years ago, on September 26, 1932, was remembered by the seismologist Gerasimos Papadopoulos.

“As Halkidiki Doesn’t Have”: Nice Midnight Tweets
To drive away fear and bad memories with a weapon, humor once again took over Twitter, given that so far no disasters and damage have been reported.
With testimonies that the earthquake was felt in Athens as well, the most beautiful humorous comment on Twitter was by far “the whole of Greece was moved because it does not have the Halkidiki earthquake.”
All Greece moved because it does not have the Halkidiki earthquake #earthquake

The list of those who stood out is followed by comments from “2020” with many following the coronavirus, floods and earthquake, recommending that we keep our minds on the Santorini volcano.

Some indignant people do not even hesitate to start a conversation and ask for explanations from 2020, a year that must be recognized as not going well:

Some “saddened” those who work … at 112
He also came #earthquake in Halkidiki and filled the 112 program:
🕐 Pandemic, inside and I don’t see a man
Σε Fire in a forest, get out and run
🕖 Flood, inside and rise high
Σε Fire in a landfill, inside and closing of doors and windows
Earthquake, outside and your help– Λευκός Καβαλάρης (@LefkosKavalaris) September 26, 2020
