In a truly tragic way, a couple in South Africa lost their lives by making their own beer and dying of poisoning!

Tony Hillier and Alinda Fuss ran out of beer and due to the confinement in Porth Nolloth, they decided to make their own beer. In the city, cellars were forbidden to open, but citizens only went out for a walk.

So after searching the internet for beer recipes, the couple made their own, but it all went wrong.

Alinda died almost immediately while Tony managed to ask for help. When an ambulance arrived, he too had lost his life.

Authorities found two empty bottles and the truth was revealed in the labs: the alcohol concentration was much higher than the limit, resulting in the couple’s death from poisoning.

“They both enjoyed a drink at the end of the day, like any South African, but the government and its decision have paid off,” said Tommy Cockroft, a friend of the couple.
