The 24-year-old was kidnapped by a gang on August 19 in Cajerne, on the outskirts of Sonora. Four men forced her into a white van, and no one has seen the unfortunate beauty since.
Yessenia’s body was found in one of the seven mass graves found by police in the Lower Canal. Five other bodies were found in this tomb.
The body of the young woman was identified by her relatives by the clothes she was wearing, while a DNA test was carried out to fully identify her.
Authorities are investigating whether Yessenia had any contact with local drug cartels or was simply kidnapped and raped.
