The new coronavirus findings in the country are shocking, as 667 new cases were announced in the last 24 hours.

New cases of coronavirus are increasing in Greece
The assistant professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Gikas Majorkinis, referred to the negative record of new diagnoses, according to EODY, after 667 new cases were registered, of which 88 are related to known confluences and 45 were located at the doors of the country.

7-8 deaths per day from coronavirus
The pandemic continues to spread at a rate of 400,000 infections a day, with an estimated 240,000 deaths in Europe, said Gikas Majorkinis, who provided an overview of the pandemic outbreak and the new measures that countries around the world are taking.
The number of coronavirus diagnoses in Greece is increasing and persists more than 400 per day. The moving average of deaths has increased from 7 to 8 per day, as Gikas Majorkinis said. Intubations are maintained at relatively high levels, that is, more than 80.
At the top of new cases are young people (ages 18-39)
The professor gave some statistics for the age groups that appear to show an increase in coronavirus cases. As he said, the rise in the epidemic is led by citizens aged 18 to 39 at a rate 39% higher than expected, while people aged 40 to 64 show an increase in coronavirus cases at a rate of one. 30% higher than expected. However, Mr. Majorkinis highlighted that the participation percentage of this age group is decreasing, in favor of the 18-39 age group.
On the contrary, both for those under 18 and for citizens over 65, the cases are lower than expected. For those over 65, the percentage is 40% lower than expected.
Regarding the geographical distribution of coronavirus cases, outbreaks outside Attica account for more than 50% of the total registered infections. The professor pointed out that the increase is observed in the north of the country, mentioning Thessaloniki, Kozani, Ioannina and Serres.
What Applies to Coronavirus Transmission Based on Blood Type?
Majorkinis reiterated that we must consider ourselves potential carriers and thus cope with the coronavirus pandemic. However, the assistant professor also touched on information that he wants a specific blood group to protect some people more from the coronavirus.
As you said, the data speaks for a small protection, only 10%, of people who have blood group “0”. The professor stressed that this means that these people are not invulnerable to the virus.
