In the afternoon there was an explosion in a boat, at Pier 7 of the Alimos marina. The explosion occurred on the ship “MARTINEZ”.
Navy personnel notified the Coast Guard, where it was found that the explosion came from the engine room of the boat, for a reason unknown at the time.
The 31-year-old foreigner on the boat was slightly injured and had to be taken by EKAB ambulance to the KAT General Hospital for preventive examinations.
According to the Coast Guard, the incident did not cause marine pollution, while the “MARTINEZ” was lifted and transported to the marine land area.
