England put seven Greek islands on the quarantine list, meaning that those arriving there from specific areas will go into self-isolation.
The islands that were included in the quarantine list are the following: Lesbos, Tinos, Serifos, Mykonos, Crete, Santorini and Zakynthos. Those arriving from these islands in England, starting at 04:00 hours on Wednesday, September 6, must enter self-isolation for two weeks, announced the Ministry of Transport.
Data from the Public Health Service of England and the Center for Biosecurity indicate a significant risk to the British public health of these islands, with the result that they are removed from the current list of “airways”, according to the announcement.
At the same time, the The British Foreign Office has updated the travel directive for Greece, advising to make only the necessary trips to Lesbos, Tinos, Serifos, Mykonos, Crete and Zakynthos. The rest of Greece is still exempt from the Foreign Ministry directive to avoid trivial travel.
Already, in the previous days, Scotland had decided to quarantine for two weeks everyone who arrived from Greece. Wales had made similar decisions, but in this case the quarantine affects those arriving from Zante, Crete, Mykonos, Lesbos, Paros and Antiparos.
