Set a maximum selling price for the coronavirus test

The decision of the Ministry of Development was published in the Official Gazette for the determination of maximum prices for the sale of goods and the provision of services, due to the emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Analytically:

In order to avoid exploitation and other illegal commercial practices, we establish as limits the sale prices of goods and services, not including those of the Value Added Tax (VAT), the following:

1) For SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus detection test by real-time molecular control method.

– PCR,
a) as the maximum price for a service charge (sample analysis, etc.), the amount of forty euros (€ 40) and

b) as a maximum surcharge price for sampling in private diagnostic laboratories and private clinics, the amount of twenty euros (€ 20).

2) For the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus antigen detection test by the Rapid Test method, a) as a limit of charge for service (analysis, etc.) in private diagnostic laboratories, private clinics and every two points of sale the amount of ten euros (€ 10) and
b) as a maximum charge for taking samples, in private diagnostic laboratories and private clinics, the amount of ten euros (€ 10).

3) The maximum values ​​provided in the corresponding paragraphs 1b) and 2b) above do not apply in the case where the sampling is carried out outside private diagnostic laboratories and private clinics where their price is freely adjusted.

4) The companies that offer the above services and goods must publish in a price list visible to the public and on their websites, a price list with the maximum prices provided above.

5) In the event of non-compliance with the provisions of sections 1 and 2, an administrative fine of five thousand euros (€ 5,000) is imposed.
