The second wave of the “coronavirus attack” in Greece continues unabated and in less than a month (in 28 days) it has cost the lives of more than 500 people, those in eight months, from the start of the pandemic to 17 October.
According to EODY data, on October 17, seven months and four days after the first registration of a coronavirus victim in the country, it was announced that the death toll reached 500. Just 28 days later, the death toll reached 1,035, breaking the psychological barrier of 1,000 victims. The average age of the victims was 80 years and 96.8% had an underlying disease and / or 70 years or more.
At the same time, there was a further increase in the number of patients admitted to intensive care units, now reaching 366 from 336 the day before. The average number of COVID-19 cases admitted to hospitals is now 350 per day and has doubled in the last ten days, while the number of intubated ICU patients is constantly increasing.
