Modern distance education

At the same time, he announced that the start of modern distance education will take place next Wednesday, November 18, one day after the official school holiday on November 17.

Distance education will be compulsory, each teaching hour will last 30 ′ – upon the pertinent suggestion of the Institute of Educational Policy – and will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for primary schools, and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. :twenty. for kindergartens, including short breaks of ten minutes.

The course schedule

As Ms. Kerameos mentioned, the lunch / afternoon schedule was chosen for two main reasons:

(a) to make it easier for families, either because they have older children who will have distance learning in the morning or because the parents are teleworking, and also all use devices for distance work or education;

b) limit the simultaneous use of all networks by students, students, employees, etc.

Remember that as long as someone connects to the platforms used by the ministry for e-learning, there will be no data charge. It is also possible to connect to the distance learning platform and via landline with a local charge.

Ms. Kerameos added that since March, the Ministry of Education has been sending technology equipment to schools, through significant donations and European funds.

What is provided to employees

For his part, the Minister of the Interior, Takis Theodorikakos, presented the measures that have been planned for employees in the State, which provide, among other things, teleworking, the possibility of working part-time and the use of special permits.

In particular, Mr. Theodorikakos announced that the State will operate with the absolutely necessary personnel based on the specific work plan that must exist in each service.

For the specialties where this is possible, teleworking will be applied to the greatest extent possible and in any case less than 50% of the employees in the State.

In addition, the management of each service must ensure that officials belonging to high-risk groups stay at home, either to work from there by teleworking or on leave of absence.

According to the agreements in force in March, parents who have at least one child under the age of 15 and are public servants will be able to work at their service, either part-time at 25% or in an alternative schedule agreed upon their service, or they can use the special purpose license.

The corresponding measures apply to parents working in the private sector and not only in the public sector, in accordance with the regulations already provided by the Ministry of Labor.

Regarding the employees in the State who have a physical and personal presence in the services that serve the public, Mr. Theodorikakos said that they must continue to serve citizens strictly by appointment that they must make.
