Specifically, the children of the Primary School will be given masks of dimensions 10x18cm, while the children of the Gymnasium – Lyceum and the teachers will be given masks of 12x22cm.
According to Giannis Stathopoulos, owner of one of the companies selected by the competition to make masks, the companies-manufacturers of masks were asked to make masks with two 100% cotton fabrics and each one has a dark fabric on the outside and internally of light color. In addition, it was requested that there be an internal plate to fit the nose of students and teachers.
As explained by Mr. Stathopoulos, the controls on the samples to be approved were very strict, while the State Chemist also verified.
Mr. Stathopoulos stated that “the tender was made for 5.5 million masks, which must be delivered before Friday, September 11, so that KEDE, which carried out the tender, distribute them to the schools.”
According to him, of the approximately 90 companies that participated in the competition, only 18 will eventually participate in the manufacture of masks. The maximum price of each mask was set by the competition at 1.2 euros and each company made its own offer.
