The Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Niki Kerameos, found the schools he visited ready for the start of the new year during his two-day tour of Central Macedonia, some twenty-four hours before the “first bell”.

During the first day today, the Minister of Education Niki Kerameos, together with the Regional Director of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia, Alexandros Koptsis, visited the schools of the prefectures of Thessaloniki, Kilkis, Pella and Imathia and spoke with the educators .

The Minister visited the Evosmos 3rd Experimental Primary School together with A ‘Thessaloniki MPs Elena Rapti and Stratos Simopoulos, as well as the Mayor of Evosmos Kleanthis Mandalianos. Next stop, the 1st Primary School of Goumenissa and then the Special Schools of Giannitsa, which share the same with the 5th and 10th Primary School of the area, together with the Mayor of Paionia Konstantinos Simonidis and the Mayor of Pella, Grigoris Stamko.

Communication of the minister with teachers in schools

The Minister spoke with the teachers about the protection and prevention measures taken by Covid-19 and highlighted the key role of teachers in educating students on the proper use of the mask.

Referring to the permanent appointments in special education and training that were made for the first time in the country this year, he congratulated the newly appointed, whom he wished a fruitful and constructive period. During discussions on the next bill on education and vocational training and lifelong learning, he stressed that its strengthening is a primary concern of the government.
