The presence of Turkish F-16s in Azerbaijan may be part of a Turkish experiment to mimic Russia’s tactics in Libya, according to Middle East expert Paul Iddon in Sunday’s Forbes issue.

Satellite images taken on October 3 by the US company Planet Labs show two F-16s on the runway of the Ganja airport in Azerbaijan a week after the start of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the New York Times, these two planes probably belong to the Turkish Air Force, since Azerbaijan does not have such planes.

The next two satellite images show the two F-16s in front of a possible CN-235 personnel and material transport vehicle. In the enlargement that follows, we can clearly see the two F-16s but without distinguishing the coats of arms.

The third satellite image shows a probably house / APTNCN-235 personnel and equipment transport aircraft used by the Turkish Air Force.

All the above information was published by the Turkish website Ahval on Monday, October 12:
