More than 50 fire trucks and 200 rescuers have been deployed to the scene, according to AFAD.
The Turkish Red Crescent with 48 members and 16 vehicles is also participating in the operations.

After the earthquake there was a tsunami in Smyrna.
Minor property damage was reported in other parts of the country.
