The internet has been taking a shocking photo from Italy for the past few hours. It shows elementary school students standing on their knees and using chairs as writing desks.
The photo posted on Twitter by the governor of Liguria, with Genoa as the capital, has gone viral.
In his comment he puts against the Minister of Education of Italy, who asks where are the new desks that he promised. “Our children, teachers and families do not deserve this situation, especially after the sacrifices made during these months.”
“I consider it unacceptable and have already sent a letter to the school administration for immediate intervention. “An image like this does not characterize a civilized country like Italy.”
This was the first day of classes for some primary school students in Genoa who have not yet received the individual desks designed for the school.
