The natural author of the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, George Roupakias, who was sentenced yesterday to life imprisonment and 14 more years in prison, will not request the suspension of his sentence.
Since 10:30 am on Thursday, the attempt by the accused who were sentenced to temporary prison, except for the author of the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, continues to persuade the court to grant suspensive effect to their appeals so that they are not arrested.
There are 13 of the 57 convicts in the courtroom. The trial continues with the testimony of witnesses in support of the request of the convicts to suspend the execution of the sentence, which was imposed on them yesterday.
There will also be a proposal from the prosecutor on this issue, speeches by defense attorneys and then the court will withdraw in conference, to decide whether and to which defendants it will grant a suspension of the execution of the sentence.
It will also depend on the court’s decision on this issue whether or not those convicted will be imprisoned after the sentences that were imposed yesterday or will be released with or without conditions, until the trial of the case in second instance.
