Disclosures of political interventions that, if confirmed, create a political problem are included in a report from an audit firm that is sent to the investigator handling the Folli Follie investigations. The report submitted by a renowned auditing firm refers to extensive audits of Folli Follie’s finances and “examines” the electronic correspondence of Group executives and their owners.
Extremely important are the findings of the investigation, where a Folli Follie executive informs one of the company’s main shareholders, George Koutsoliotsos, about the practical interest of two ministers from the then SYRIZA government, mentioning both by name. One had a portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and the other was one of the top government ministers with broader responsibilities. At the same time, there is a report about a member of the ruling party, who is said to be “exaggerating” by trying to convince the chairman of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission to ease the situation with Folli Follie, who was facing huge problems. and I was in control.
It also refers to another SYRIZA deputy who later became a minister with a portfolio in Rural Development. The executive who sends the updates to George Koutsolioutsos continues to raise questions of financial support for those who help solve the company’s problems, while for the SYRIZA MP who shows the most interest, there is also the report that it has been busy with an amendment. for the Tax Free Shops (the Koutsoliouts were interested) and reporting that all is well while also attaching the amendment before it is presented to Parliament.
The file of the competent investigator has reached the hands of the head of the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office, Sotiria Papageorgakopoulou, and is being studied to decide whether it will be sent to Parliament, based on the law on the responsibility of ministers.
Detailed emails
Specifically, the file includes the following emails sent to NS and addressed to George Koutsolioutsos.
The first email dated May 11, 2018 reads the following:

It had to be done after the noise that has been created and from what our people told me, they were cooperative and friendly (the president had informed us) ”.
In yet another message dated May 13, 2018 by email with the sender and again NS and recipient George Koutsolioutsos state the following:
“Mr. George, as you have already been informed, in particular the presence of the President is a catalyst. I am sure that with the pressure exerted by our people on them, the whole process will go smoothly and without surprises. As you understand, it is very difficult for the commission because from all sides they are pressuring it to be more direct and harsh with us, they are already accusing it of favorable treatment. But we have strong allies. Of course, it is enough for us to help them in what they ask us, even if we are giving data little by little with a flow. Yesterday, as I informed you, I had a meeting with a counselor representing one of our top three supporters in the case. After telling me how difficult the whole project is and how exposed her man is and what he has done so far for us and what will be until everything is finished with us, he told me that he has some needs. (80) I would not like to speak in more detail, either by email or by phone. I believe that at the moment we cannot afford to cede any of our allies to our opponents for any reason. Unfortunately, you must allocate a fund for these contacts. I am not in favor and you know it, but in this case I do not think it is done otherwise. Let me know how I proceed at least in this case. Also included in the file is the mail dated May 29, 2018 at 6:10 p.m. In this message, an NS employee reports on an amendment that was about to be introduced that concerned a favorable regulation for OEMs. This mail, according to his NS, was always sent by M. Balaouras, while attached, before the entire amendment in question is submitted.
