Red alert for coronavirus – New measures on the table – News – news

The “red alert” has signaled to the government with the increase in the number of cases as well as with the spread of the coronavirus in closed structures resulting in new stricter measures on the table.

According to information from in.gr, at yesterday’s meeting in the Palace of the Maxims under the command of the Prime Minister on the course of the coronavirus, infectious disease specialists suggested stricter measures to limit the spread of the deadly virus.

Koronovios: see which areas of Attica are in “red”

Of course, the implementation of the measures will be decided if it is estimated that the situation tends to “escape”, especially with the opening of schools. Furthermore, in other countries the return of students to the classroom was accompanied by an increase in cases, something that is also feared in Greece.

It seems that the new measures are a one-way street for specialists at a time when Attica remains in the red despite the return of tourists, while the number of patients increases day by day.

At the same time, another issue that worries experts is scattered outbreaks in closed structures, for which several measures have already been taken.

So this time the masks and the shops are in the sights of the experts and the government.

According to information from in.gr, the measures that fell on the table are:

Measure 1. Widespread use of mask

The measure that has been discussed many times refers to the widespread use of a mask.

The information indicates that experts will decide in the coming days whether the use of the mask will be mandatory abroad.

If this measure is finally implemented, when leaving home, everyone will have to wear their mask even to go to the nearest kiosk.

After all, many experts have mentioned this possibility many times, emphasizing that only then will we be able to face the second wave of the pandemic with as few losses as possible.

After all, the first professor of epidemiology, Athens Linou, had told MEGA that wearing a mask should go mainstream.

The professor of epidemiology had emphasized at the time that the use of the mask should be mandatory from the moment one leaves the home and should be used everywhere.

“We should have a general use of a mandatory mask everywhere.”

Ms. Linou had also pointed out that the cases we have every day show that we are in the second wave of the pandemic in the country.

Note that the list of areas where a mini-lock has already been imposed and the mandatory use of masks has already reached eight.

The last area where restrictive measures were announced was Heraklion, Crete, which entered this regime on 1 September.

They are followed by Lesbos, Paros, Antiparos and Mykonos.

Extraordinary measures are also applied in Zakynthos, Halkidiki and Chania.

Measure 2: Change of business hours

This measure is the first time that experts have debated it with such intensity and this is because it seems to be the only way to decongest public transport.

So it is not ruled out that in the coming days there will be changes in the opening hours of the stores.

The information from in.gr indicates that stores that open at 9:00 am could open at 10 am, while respectively one hour later, commercial stores (malls) will open, which now open at 10 in the morning.

It seems that the experts are looking for a way to avoid overcrowding in the MMM, especially now that all the hikers have returned to their bases and the change in schedule is the only solution so that they do not gather with dozens at the stops.

In this sense, interventions in government hours are not excluded so that there is no overcrowding of employees at specific hours in the morning and afternoon.

Measure 3: The closure of catering establishments at 12 at night

Another measure, which is not essentially a new directive, but a continuation of the previous one, is that restaurants continue to close at midnight.

Neither the government nor the experts seem to want to change the specific hours, as otherwise it is very likely that there will be a lot of people in the restaurants.

Despite the objections of restaurant and bar owners, the midnight lock may remain for many more weeks.

It also appears that there are no exceptions to the plan of epidemiologists. In other words, all the stores will continue to close at 12 until we at least see the number of boxes decrease.

In any case, the experts have presented the previous proposals to the Prime Minister, which may be implemented in the coming days if the outlook for the epidemiological situation in the country does not improve.
