Rapid weather deterioration starting tonight: rain, thunderstorms, and hail [χάρτες] | HELLAS

A temporary worsening of the weather is expected Friday in the northwest until noon, with showers and thunderstorms that may be accompanied by hail.

According to EMY’s worsening weather emergency bulletin, a new disturbance in the upper atmosphere of the central Mediterranean will move further east and affect northwest Greece.

The intense phenomena of the afternoon hours will also affect the northeast of the country.

In the rest of the regions, scattered clouds that will gradually thicken, with local rains since the afternoon on the mainland. The winds will blow from directions 4 to 6 south and into the Aegean locally 7 beauforts. Little by little, in the west they will turn to the northwest and weaken.

From Thursday night (10-15-2020) the Ionian Islands will be affected, the
Epirus and gradually the western continent.

A weakening of the phenomena is expected gradually from 12 noon on Friday (10-16-2020) from the north.

The first two maps of the next four record 24-hour precipitation. In the second phase from the hours of Friday afternoon, eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the islands of the northeast Aegean will be affected, with a weakening of the phenomena in the early hours of Saturday in eastern Macedonia and Thrace and from noon on the islands of the northeast Aegean.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

• Weather: In Western Macedonia, the clouds partially increased with local rains and sporadic thunderstorms and a gradual improvement from the afternoon. In the rest of the regions clouds with local rains from noon and gradually sporadic thunderstorms, which from the afternoon in eastern Macedonia and Thrace will be strong in some places.
• Winds: From the south directions 3 to 5 and in the east local 6 beauforts. From late afternoon in the west they will turn northwest from 4 to 5 Beaufort.
• Temperature: 11 to 28 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia from 4 to 6 points less.

IONIC ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN STAND, WESTERN PELOPONÉS

• Weather: Over the Ionian, Epirus and western Sterea clouds with rain and locally strong thunderstorms. The effects will gradually weaken from midday and from the north. In the western Peloponnese clouds, gradual local rains and late-afternoon temporary storms.
• Winds: South-southeast 4 to 6 and in the Ionian in the morning hours locally 7 Beaufort. Little by little, from the north, they will turn northwest from 4 to 5 Beaufort.
• Temperature: 11 to 26 degrees Celsius. In the north 3 to 5 degrees lower.

THESALIA, EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONIAN

• Weather: Scattered clouds that will gradually thicken and from afternoon there will be local rains.
• Winds: From the south in direction 4 to 6 and from the afternoon locally 7 beauforts.
• Temperature: 12 to 28 degrees centigrade.

CYCLADES, CRETE

• Weather: Scattered clouds, which will become more dense.
• Winds: South 4 to 6 and from the afternoon locally 7 beaufort.
• Temperature: From 18 to 26 and in Crete up to 29 degrees centigrade.

EASTERN EEGEUS ISLANDS, DODECANESE

• Weather: Scattered clouds, which will gradually thicken. Starting in the late afternoon on the islands of the northeast Aegean Sea, there will be local rains and sporadic thunderstorms, starting at night will be strong in some places.
• Winds: South 5 to 6, in the north starting in the afternoon locally 7 beauforts and only in the southeast will blow from the west up to 5 beauforts.
• Temperature: 18 to 26 degrees Celsius.

ATTICA
