Prince Harry sued Associated Newspapers, which publishes the Sunday edition of the tabloid Mail, for defamation.
The Schillings law firm, representing the Duke of Sussex and his wife Megan, filed a lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) in late November, according to Sky News.
The lawsuit is related to a story published in October, according to which the prince has reportedly had no contact with the Marines since he left office in March.
When he resigned from his royal duties, Prince Harry also renounced his honorary military titles.
These included his roles as Captain General of the Royal Navy, Honorary Commander of Horrington Air Force Base and Honorary Commander of Small Ships and Diving of the Royal Navy.
The duke spent a decade serving in the military and participated in two operations in Afghanistan.
Harry said last month that he was “born into a life of duty” while in the military he was “dedicated to a life of service.”
Reports describing the lawsuit are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The Duchess of Sussex is already in a legal dispute with the ANL group, which also publishes the Daily Mail and MailOnline.
The Mail, according to Megan Markle’s lawsuit, reproduced parts of a handwritten letter she sent to Thomas’s father in August 2018.
This is not the first time Harry has faced editors. He has already sued the News Group, The Sun and News of the World newspapers, as well as the Mirror Group, the editor of the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror, over a case that allegedly involved hacking into the prince’s phone history. .
The Sunday Mail declined to comment on the allegations.
