The new measures applied to the “gray” areas of the confinement in Thessaloniki and Serres were analyzed by the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias.
As of today, the retail operation is suspended, with the exception of food retail stores (supermarket, convenience store and pet store), hairdressers and personal hygiene services. All sporting activities are also suspended except for the Football Super League and the Basketball League and the European competitions of the two sports.
Wholesale trade, industry, hotels, as well as primary and secondary schools will continue to operate, but in secondary schools and institutions of higher education the courses will be carried out with compulsory distance education.
No “package” of restaurants
Especially in the peripheral units of Thessaloniki and Serres, it is forbidden to receive packages and drive from the dining areas and only delivery is allowed.
Travel restriction
Travel restrictions apply in both areas. Residents can travel by sending a free SMS to 13033. During the period from 05.00 to 21.00, travel is only allowed for the following reasons:
1. Traveling for health reasons (going to a pharmacy, going to the doctor or going to a hospital or health center, if recommended after the corresponding communication). [SMS – Επιλογή 1]
2. Go to an operational store for basic supplies, where it is not possible to ship them on time. [SMS – Επιλογή 2]
3. Go to a public service, if the electronic or telephone service is not possible only for urgent needs, prior appointment of which the citizen is informed in writing or electronically and under the additional condition of proving the above information. Go to the bank, insofar as electronic transaction is not possible. [SMS – Επιλογή 3]
4. Go help people in need. Transfer to and from the workplace of a spouse or first-degree relative, if necessary. Transportation of a minor to and from a school unit [SMS – Επιλογή 4]
5. Attend a ceremony (eg Funeral) under the conditions provided by law or go to divorced parents or those who are in a dimension that is necessary to ensure communication between parents and children, in accordance with current provisions . [SMS – Επιλογή 5]
6. Physical exercise in the open air or movement with pets, individually or in pairs of two (2) people, provided that in the latter case the necessary distance of one and a half meters (1.5) is observed. Transition for feeding stray animals, if the transition takes place within the municipality of residence of the citizen. [SMS – Επιλογή 6]
From 21:00 to 05:00, travel will be allowed. only for work purposes [με βεβαίωση εργοδότη τύπου Α, χωρίς SMS], Health [SMS – Επιλογή 1] and individual movement with a pet [SMS – Επιλογή 6].
It is also observed that the transfer of minor children to and from school units is allowed by a parent / guardian by sending an SMS – Option 4 and with a certificate-certificate from the School Directorate, indicating the address of the school unit and the home address of the student or schoolgirl.
Travel outside the Thessaloniki and Serres Regional Units is prohibited. Air and rail transport is suspended abroad, while it is only allowed for strictly professional and health reasons in national transport.
Moving to and from work during business hours or during work, if necessary, it is done exclusively with the corresponding type A certificate from the employer without the need for SMS.
“Moments are crucial, but if we join forces we can achieve them,” concluded Mr. Hardalias.
