Piraeus Seraphim tells the faithful and concludes: “Miracle, the virus is not transmitted through Holy Communion”! | HELLAS

The Metropolitan of Piraeus Seraphim speaks of a “miracle” in the Christmas circular that was read in all the churches of the city.

Seraphim, among others, calculated how many believers have attended Divine Liturgy across Greece in the last ten months and compared it to the number of coronavirus cases, saying that this proves that the virus is not transmitted through Holy Communion.

“This is the miracle of our day, in which we have the grace and blessing to actively participate as Orthodox Christians of the Greek Church,” concluded the metropolitan of Piraeus.

The Metropolitan of Piraeus specifically said:

“During the last 10 months, the celebration of the Divine Liturgy continues every Sunday in the approximately 100,000 temples in the Greek territory. We are talking about 25 Sundays. So 25 x 100,000 = 250,000 Divine Liturgies have been performed only on Sundays in the last 10 months, without taking into account the major intermediate holidays that fall on weekdays. Let us suppose that every Sunday only 10 believers take Communion in each Divine Liturgy, so 250,000 liturgies x 10 believers = 2,500,000 times in total that the faithful have communicated in the last 10 months. And I don’t claim that the 2,500,000 believers are unique! But from the 130,000 cases registered in Greece to the 2,500,000 times that the faithful shared in the churches, there is a great discrepancy; Since some claim that this contagious virus is also transmitted through Holy Communion! This is the miracle of our day, in which we have the grace and the blessing to actively participate as Orthodox Christians of the Greek Church ”.
