Pierrakakis-SKAI: What role will you show to get vaccinated? How to make an appointment?

The Minister of State and Digital Government, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, gave details about the procedure that citizens will make their appointments to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, in statements to SKAI and the KALIMERA show.

In fact, it revealed that people will be vaccinated with a paper or a code. That is, when the citizen goes to the pharmacy to make an appointment, the pharmacist will print a piece of paper, which you will have to display in the center for greater precision. We want to know in real time how many are being vaccinated and we want to be able to follow this process to minimize the problems observed. At the same time, proof is provided for the citizen that he was vaccinated. Of course where this will be used is a pan-European question, because there are personal data questions, which will be answered by the EU, “noted Mr Pierrakakis.

As he explained, the National Vaccination Plan has three phases, which are not independent. “At the beginning we focus. We start from the toilets, the nursing homes, the broader welfare structures. In the process we go to the second phase which is very big and will break into pieces. It concerns all our fellow citizens over 60 years, but also to citizens over 18 years of age who have underlying diseases that can cause a great risk if they contract Covid. This phase will last several months, depending on how the vaccines arrive, “he said, adding that the citizen who want to get vaccinated will make two appointments from the beginning and not one, since the vaccines are of two doses.

“People will be informed by all available means. First the media will do it, where the Commission will say which category of citizens should be vaccinated. In addition, those enrolled in the intangible prescription, who exceed one million, will receive a message with suggested quotes and later, citizens who do not have digital competences will be able to go to pharmacies or KEP, which for this purpose, will be opened to make their appointments, ”stressed the Minister of Digital Government.

In the event that the citizen for any reason misses the appointment he has made, there will be the possibility of changing it at least once. “If someone misses the appointment for their vaccination, it depends on the availability to make a new appointment. We said at the beginning that we will suggest dates to the world and we will give them the opportunity to change it once. From there, those who already have planned, but in the process we want to make it easier for all of our fellow citizens, ”said Mr. Pierrakakis.

At the same time, he said that the ministry will build outgoing call centers, so that the state can call on citizens to include them in the process. “The number we will use is 13034. From this, people will receive calls or messages, but they can also send a message with the AMKA and the name to see if they are in the categories eligible to receive the vaccine.”

Commenting on the “premiere” of today’s vaccines, the Minister of Digital Government noted that “today is a day of joy and hope. In a very short time, the global scientific community and states have managed to deliver safe vaccines. We started with one, but along the way we will have a lot and now we are at the beginning of the end. Of course, the beginning of the end is not the end. We have a long way to go. ”
