Petsas in MEGA – Removed on December 7 to remove lockdown – Goal is to vaccinate all Greeks by end of June

Government spokesman Stelios Petsas announced an extension of the shutdown after December 7, speaking with MEGA.

Mr. Petsas said that the pandemic data at this time shows a stabilization or even a decrease while there are positive elements, such as that discharges are more than patient admissions and at the same time, he noted, the number of simple empty beds is increasing.

The government’s goal is to have citizens’ vaccines against coronavirus completed by the end of June, the government spokesman emphasized.

He stressed that vaccinations will begin in late December and early January and the government will launch an information campaign to convince the public.

When asked whether schools or retail stores will open first, Petsas said the government cannot yet announce the order in which they will open and referred to announcements that will be made before the weekend, regarding the sheet of route for the opening of the country.

With these data, it seems that the order in which schools, shops and restaurants will be opened is still being considered, while leaving a “window” for the lock to leave the hairdressers soon.
