Patras merchants have been holding banners on the main streets of Patras since early in the morning, protesting the government’s decision not to open shops in Achaia.
The announcement where the board of directors of the association says:
“At midnight on Friday, with a sudden, incomprehensible and unjustified decision, the retail opening for Achaia, Thessaloniki and Kozani, which had just been announced on Wednesday, was canceled.
The business world is experiencing unprecedented mockery and humiliation. We have been closed for more than 3 months by state order and without any type of support. We are desperate and without any other resistance. Throughout this period, we have an outbreak of pandemics that demonstrates the obvious fact that retail is not a source of virus transmission. But it is paying a heavy price with the destruction of thousands of small and medium-sized businesses.
-We demand the immediate revocation of the decision and the opening of the stores on April 5, with strict compliance with restrictive measures in their operation.
-We ask the deputies of Acaya, the Region, the Municipality and the Chamber to take a clear position so that the transformation of Patras into a dead city is not allowed.
-We ask for immediate financial support and support for the time we have been closed, compensation for unavailable goods and for the reduction in billing in 2020.
-We request substantial reinforcement of the SNA with nursing personnel, private sector order and reopening of the Thoracic Diseases Hospital.
-We summon our colleagues and all the bodies of the city in a massive mobilization taking into account the distances and all the sanitary measures during the visit of the Vice Minister of the Interior Mr. Petsas on Sunday, April 4 at 9:00 am outside the City Hall and at 10:00 hours outside the Chamber.
-All Monday morning at 9:00 in our stores without staff, with lights and our door open, with all individual protection measures without serving consumers. We publish the poster – the Association’s funeral paper and black flags.
So far we have a voice!
Patras FRAUD does not beg!
No more teasing in small and medium-sized businesses! “
