Both the Police and the Transparency Authority have imposed padlocks and fines on several restaurants in Patras for violating restrictive conditions.
However, a few days later, the stores reopen, and even with a court decision.
Patras lawyer Akis Vavaroutas, who defended the owners of the stores where their business was suspended, explained to “Society Hour MEGA” what exactly is happening.
“The case starts badly from the law. Decisions issued by the Transparency Authority or the Police are immediately enforceable. That is, as soon as the violation is confirmed, the next day the store that received the fine closes,” he said and added :
“However, when a request is made to the administrative court of first instance, due to the delays in the trials, the shops open,” he said.
According to Mr. Vavaroutas, this store law has loopholes, while the new circulars that are issued generate confusion.
