The governor of Attica, George Patoulis, tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday, as announced through his personal account on social networks.
As Mr. Patoulis pointed out, he was informed that a mayor from the region that he had met, tested positive and was quick to be tested, so it is also positive for him.
“I will remain isolated for the next period, performing my duties remotely and safely,” said George Patoulis.
Speaking to Star, the governor of Attica stated that so far he has no symptoms of the coronavirus, while he stated that the appointment with the mayor was made on Friday in his office.
“All measures had been taken as in each meeting. We read on Saturday in a post that it was positive,” said Mr. Patoulis, adding that the regional deputy governor who participated in the meeting also took a test on Monday and tested positive .
“We will do what the protocol says, obviously,” concluded Patoulis.
Negative spouse and child tests
The other members of the family of the governor of Attica, his wife and son, also carried out direct tests, which came back negative.
As noted by Marina Patouli, she will cancel all her scheduled meetings, will remain in isolation for the next 3-4 days, while immediately doing a second coronavirus test.
