Reclassifications are expected soon in the composition of Parliament as everything shows the former minister Panagiotis Kouroumblis He will return to the Plenary, after one year and three months after his appeal to the electoral court that justifies it.
We remind you that in the national elections of July 7, 2019, SYRIZA elected four deputies in the B2 West Sector of Athens. The first three were chosen clearly and with a difference in the number of votes between them. First is Giannis Dragasakis, second is Dimitris Vitsas and third is Hara Kafantari.
In the fourth and last eligible position, however, according to official data from the Ministry of the Interior, the Thanasis Papachristopoulos received 13,912 votes to 13,905 from Mr. Kouroublis. In other words, the seat was judged with only seven votes.
Mr. Kouroublis immediately appealed to the Electoral Tribunal, claiming that some of his ballots were not counted, requesting a recount. The examination of the case would take place at the beginning of the year, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But now, after the recount, the electoral court justifies Mr. Kouroublis, who is said to be in fourth place and occupies the seat with a difference of about 200 votes from Mr. Papachristopoulos. The case will be finalized in about two months and when that happens, the replacement of people in Parliament will take place.
