Yesterday it became known that Pierre Dreosi is in Athens and is in advanced talks with Panathinaikos. Most likely, the club has found the new manager, but the important thing is to find his constants. Strange things are really happening on the team.

THE METRO HAS BEEN OVERCOME
The nearby nucleus dealing with Panathinaikos has lost control somewhere. All problems are maximized to an incredible degree, and in the end, the discussion leads to disaster. Somewhere it makes sense, since the club has been several years away from its true level, but has exceeded the measure.
A wrong initial plan by the manager is enough for fans and journalists to find it ultimately unsuitable for the club. It may be, but this time it’s not about a magician’s apprentice, but about an experienced coach who has a career behind him for 21 years and who was not given the easiest job in the world.
YOU NEED FAITH AND PATIENCE IN A PLAN
If the Panathinaikos need anything, it is faith and perseverance in a plan. To finally implement something specific and support it as a whole to the entire organization. To support him and not be able to influence the plan in case the coach made a mistake in a game or if two players reacted strongly to his face or have complaints.
It is reasonable and a fact that most footballers are more interested in their own career than in the direction of the club they work for and the crises and reactions are selfish. The extent to which the club should be affected by such events should even go down to how they handle the situation with the particular athlete. That is, if there will be punishment and what will it be. There is nothing worse for a team’s dressing room than that its players feel that they can, if they react, turn the club upside down.
I wrote it when Laszlo Boloni was hired. This is where things come in. It is very important that this election comes out and to do that you have to support it. The choice of Pierre Draosi goes in this direction but, of course, with what we have seen in recent years you can never be sure.
ONE MODEL SUCCESSFUL THE OTHER
Furthermore, in a very short time we see one pattern succeeding the other. From the triennial plan of 2018, which would have a strong Greek element, the promotion of the children of the academy and the financial collection of the club, undertaken by Nikos Dambizas, we moved to the Spanish model with Xavi Roca. Both shots were stopped prematurely.
Be careful, I do not judge whether specific collaborations should be terminated or not. The truth is that things in the team have not gone better since Nikos Dambizas and Giorgos Donis left, but the strange thing for the club is that with the departure of some people the plan changes completely.
The problem is that the club does not have a specific organization chart that can be a replacement for an important executive and not affect the functioning of the entire team. They gave the keys to Roca, the Spanish found a model with children from the academy who quickly showed that he did not believe much. There was no continuity in the plan, he brought in his own coach and in fact a completely inexperienced one so that he could have absolute command and filled the roster with his own choices of Spanish-speaking players.
He failed miserably and with his departure the plan was abandoned. Proving the following: that a club as big as Panathinaikos was working on a project that was only in the mind of one person. Dambizas left, who was struggling to collect the club’s finances, the policy and the plan changed.
Dambizas left and suddenly he found money for Roca who had the opportunity to follow a different model. He even had the freedom to bring in a coach who has never worked in a first team. But as soon as Pogiatos made them a salad, they left a package with their soccer plan. Immediately after Roca’s dismissal, the team took a different course as it was taken over by a coach with a completely different training.
THERE IS ALSO THE ASIA MARKET
With the selection of Dreosi, it is clear that Giannis Alafouzos intends to support the selection of Laszlo Boloni. However, this cannot be the only requirement at a club like Panathinaikos. To say that Laszlo Boloni continues without putting Vigiafanes, who uses the pair in the attack that cannot pass between them, that they kill each other in the locker room with their players and things do not work.
What will happen in this case? Based on what we’ve seen so far, Giannis Alafouzos is more likely to think the following. I have tried an Italian coach, I have brought in ex-footballers from the club as coaches, I tried a Spanish model, I tried a French model. Everything failed, it was time for the Dutch. Then he will bring a Dutch technical director, a Dutch coach and if he does not come out we will catch Latin America and there is also the Asian market.
PIERRE DREOSI ORGANIZATION
But let’s be serious. For me, the choice of Pierre Drosi goes in the right direction. But to succeed, it must be framed and part of a single global club decision and not just because Boloni proposed it. It is not possible that the coach and the technical director are packaged, just as the general plan of a team does not concern the success or not of a person. That way you cannot be successful. Apart from the fact that exile is wrong as a philosophy, you manage to let every footballer know that if he is not happy, it is up to him with his behavior to turn the club upside down.
Pierre Dreosi has been tested in all positions. In France it is said that he is a man of organization who has passed through various positions. He started in 1994 from the club that stopped playing football first as the coach of the second Cannes team that has a large academy and then as an assistant coach. From 1996 to 2002 he went to Lille as technical director and his work led wealthy owner Ren Pinot to bring him to Brittany. He had complete confidence in him and in practice he was his right hand man from 2002-13.
Technical director from 2002-2006. The first manager he hired was Laszlo Boloni in the summer of 2003, and when the Romanian left the club he replaced him. I even remember that in the summer of 2006 Rehn had not replaced Dreosi’s position and had been given a dual role as coach and sports director.
In the first year as a coach he had done very well, he had led the team to fourth place, but the next outing was not good. Rehn had a 3-0-6 record and Dreosi himself suggested to Pinot that he return to an organizing role and that the club hire a coach. Since then, he has not tried to work as a coach again and held the position of sports director until the summer of 2013.
Then, in the summer of 2015, he postponed the construction of Paris FC. He did important work mainly at the organizational level.
THE FIVE YEAR PLAN IN PARIS FC
He took office at the end of the holidays in late December 2015. Paris FC, after many years in the lower divisions that season, had been promoted to the second division. But she was unprepared for this level and will surely be demoted as she did.
In the summer of 2016, Dreosi drew up a five-year plan, the goal of which was for the team to return to Ligue 2 immediately and prepare for the first division. He achieved his first goal. Indeed, Paris immediately returned to the first division, in fact organized on a functional level, but in its own days it failed to return to the first division. It was very close to the goal in the 2018-19 season, Paris won the championship and finished in fourth place.
In the summer of 2019, Dreosi wanted a bigger budget to build on the momentum and elevate the team. It was not given. Their relations with the coaches deteriorated, Paris lagged far behind in the standings from the start and Dreosi left when the team came to risk relegation. However, the level of the club rose noticeably in his hands today, 11 months after his departure, Paris are in first place and close to justifying Pietre Dreosi’s plan, even a year late.
I represent Paris FC because it is his most recent job and he certainly left a much more organized club than he found.
From the discussions I had, I understood that this is a man who since he left his germ to be a coach, that is, since December 2007, he dealt more with organizational issues in his teams and left his coaches freedoms.
However, in order to help Panathinaikos organizationally, there must be a culture of giving money to important pieces and details in modern football that the Alafouzou administration has ignored.
THE FRENCH MODEL FITS US WITH THE RIGHT CONNECTION
On the competitive side, Pierre Dreosi has a good name and acquaintances in his country. It has been shown mainly with the cooperation of Olympiacos with Modesto and Karebe that the French market fits into the Greek championship. The Champions League is a league that combines the quality of a French footballer with the athleticism of Africans. You can find missing elements in Greek football.
Athletic black footballers who will offer an energy and intensity that is currently very lacking in the team’s squad, but of course also footballers with a developed technical background who have been trained in high-rhythm football. It is important that the club does not leave only the specific model so as not to neglect the production of its own footballers so as not to forget that historically in all the good teams of the club there was a strong base of the Greek element.
We need a common philosophy and connection so that the club’s success and plan does not depend solely on the direction of one person’s work.
It is clear that Boloni 0 Dreosi cannot be left alone at Panathinaikos. People from the club are needed in the changing rooms so that there is a connection and it is not repeated with Roca and Pogiatos. They quickly grew apart and became two foreigners who could not get the slightest connection to the Panathinaikos.
