The new provision decided by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Giannis Vroutsis, essentially establishes the extraordinary financial support of the affected professions with “self-financing”, that is, with resources paid by the professionals themselves through their insurance deductions.
In the case of lawyers, the aid will be granted through the contribution of 10 euros per month paid by the lawyers insured by e-EFKA in favor of the unemployment sector for years. Now that the measure is legislated and will have national scope, it will cover 30% of lawyers (approximately 12,000 people) who declare very low income to zero in the tax office.
According to the provision revealed by the “Free Press”: It is granted one-time financial assistance to the insured lawyers who belong to the e-EFKA and were significantly affected by the consequences of the coronavirus. The expenses caused by the payment of the aid are covered by the branch of the Special Unemployment Account in favor of the Independent and Independent Employees and in this case by the deductions of the lawyers.
The moment of payment of the aid, its amount, the beneficiaries, the terms, conditions and the form of its grant will be clarified with a decision after the enactment of the law.
