The decisive meeting of the Committee on Infectious Diseases, which is called to propose the “relaxation” of restrictive measures and the “roadmap” for the opening of economic and social activities, is postponed for three days.
Thus, on Friday and not tomorrow, Megaro Maximou will press the announcement button of the new “roadmap”, so that there is more data and the “safe route” is selected for the gradual restart of some activities from next Saturday until Week Santa . In other words, the government and experts continue to move according to the process they have followed so far, which means that this time too the Commission will propose a package of proposals at Friday’s meeting, relevant government officials will announce the decisions and actions to be taken. It will go into effect on Monday. Government sources add that any changes related to the weekend and announced on Friday will take effect immediately.
The same government sources add that the Health Committee -which will meet tomorrow Wednesday- will evaluate the epidemiological situation, re-evaluate the measures and consider what changes are necessary. Government officials point out that a year after the fight against the pandemic, the evident “fatigue” of citizens by the measures but also the current panorama of cases and pressures in the NSS, a very good “scan” of the situation is made. Before the announcement-description, a time horizon was needed for the gradual resumption of some activities. For the final “signature” in the “Roadmap” the health factors and the contribution of each activity to the transmission of the virus will be taken into account, as the data shows.
