Olympiacos’ first match in the Interwetten Super League this year saw Embilas – Rafinia make their rojiblancos debut against Asteras and Cholebas played a key role following their return to Piraeus.
“AIR” OLYMPIAKOS AFTER THE CHANGES
The rojiblancos were hampered by the defensive organization of Asteras, but also by the simultaneous presence of Bouhalakis, Embila and Kamara in the starting eleven. It was only fitting for Martins to turn things around and the second half began with Fortunis replacing Embilas and Masouras in place of Rangelovic, with the lineup shifting to 4-2-3-1.
It took a minute to improve Olympiakos’ combinations, with the Fortuni-Masoura alternations bringing shots from Rafinias inside the area from the right. The presence of Fortounis immediately illuminated the rojiblancos, who immediately accelerated in their rotations over the crossbar.
In the 59th minute, Kamaras played perpendicular to Fortounis, who let the ball pass under his feet for Rafinias who had reached the center. He left for the area, welcomed the return of the Brazilian outside the area, entered it and with his left opened the scoring.
Five minutes later it was Martins’ second turn. Kamara failed to enter the area, but pressed, the ball fell to Masouras. Immediate execution with the left just in the area, the ball in the lateral net for the rojiblancos 2-0.

After 2-0, Asteras also found some moments in the defensive relaxation of the hosts, with a shot from Barrales and a header from Tasoulis.
In the 87th minute, Martins’ next substitution had a chance to be anointed as the scorer, but with Hassan’s beautiful shot from very close, Papadopoulos put in an impressive effort with a double effort.
A minute later, Fortounis played perpendicular to Hassan, Egypt returned with a projection and Masouras in an empty net made it 3-0. The Olympiacos captain had a chance for his second own goal, but in the 90th minute he shot Papadopoulos in the fourth quarter.
THEY DID NOT “SLIP” TOGETHER EMBILA-BOUCHALAKIS
The first 45 minutes of the empty “Karaiskakis” passed without rhythm and without great phases.
Olympiakos found his first chance in the 22nd minute in Martins’ favorite form. Kamara stole high, Arabi quickly “fed” Randzelovic who executed with pressure in the area, but fired at the feet of Papadopoulos. In the 28th minute, after a set phase by Asteras, Kamara knocked Arabi out of the area, who entered the area, turned to Radzelovic, but the Serbian’s shot was blocked by the Asteras defenders.
Asteras had his own moment from a set phase, when in the 36th minute Ali Baba took the corner, Tzolakis headed in from the small area line, with Sa blocking with a double effort.

With Guillermo out and Pepe not yet ready to play, the simultaneous presence of Embila-Bouhalakis did not work in Olympiacos’ favor. The two moved to the same locations, leaving Kamaras relatively alone as Valbouena’s “support”.
