Nurses from Crete went to Thessaloniki to volunteer to help “Ippokratio”

Determined to stay in Thessaloniki and volunteer their services at ICU “Ippokratio” for as long as necessary, ten nurses from Heraklion, Crete arrived at “Macedonia” airport.

The nurses were received by the commanders of the 3rd and 4th RAE Panagiotis Bogiatzidis and Dimitris Tsalikakis, as well as by the commander of “Ippokratio” Nikolaos Antonakis.

The ten nurses who specialize in Intensive Care Units came to Thessaloniki on a voluntary basis, without hesitation in leaving their families and homes thinking that perhaps in the place of those who are in Intensive Care and need help there could be someone of their own or even myself.

“Vasiliki, Olympia, Evangelia, Artemis, Katerina, Malamati, Efrosini, Anthi, Chrysoula and Penelope, voluntarily declared that they are on the front line of battle alongside their colleagues in northern Greece. Starting tomorrow, they will begin to serve. in “Ippokratio.” And they are not the only ones, as the commanders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs inform me, from areas that are not so affected, and others said they want to go to Thessaloniki, in northern Greece, to help. before the greatness of the soul and the courage of these children ”, said Panagiotis Bogiatzidis.

The nurses tomorrow morning will enter the battle against the coronavirus in the ICU of “Ippokratio”. Her example is followed by five other nurses who will come from the “Sismanogleio” Hospital in Komotini to support “Hippocrates”.

Another six nurses and one nurse are expected to come from Argos and Ioannina respectively to offer their services at AHEPA hospital.
