The most powerful earthquake 6.7 Richter, which occurred at 1:51 p.m. off Samos, has caused damage to buildings and the island’s road network.
The information so far speaks of 10 injured in Samos.
The Undersecretary for Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, rushes to the island with a government official in order to evaluate the situation that has been formed and the planning of actions to face the consequences after the seismic vibration.
The Deputy Minister is accompanied by the Deputy Minister of the Interior Theodoros Livanios, the Secretary General for Infrastructure Georgios Karagiannis, the Secretary General for Reception of Asylum Seekers Emmanouil Logothetis, the Commander of the First Ministry of Health of the Ministry of Health, Secretariat of Civil Protection, as the First Response Team of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.
Too, on the island there is a ladder from the 1st EMAK, while with special flights from the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, executives from the EKAB and civil engineers from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the General Secretariat for Civil Protection travel to the island to carry out static controls on buildings and record the seismic vibration damage.
All the civil protection forces have been immediately activated to deal with the consequences of the earthquake, while all the Special Units for Disaster Management (EMAK) of the Fire Brigade are on high alert.
