The government is considering new measures in Attica for the coronavirus, as the coronavirus cases that are announced daily in the region remain stable above 100.

On Monday, the National Public Health Organization announced 180 new cases, 102 of which were registered in the Attica region, which remains “red.” According to the information, the busiest areas are considered the center of Athens and Piraeus, as well as Kifissia.

Existing measures such as the closure of restaurants and entertainment stores at 12 p.m., a limit of 50 people in meetings, weddings, baptisms and 6 people in restaurants are expected to be reinforced with additional restrictions with experts suggesting, among others stuff Continuous hours in the public and private sectors and possibly more reduction of individualsin social events but also in stores.

However, according to reports, the main preferred measure for Attica is by places and by municipalities mandatory use of masks indoors.

As announced by the government spokesman, Stelios Petsas, the prime minister asked infectious disease specialists for a list of specific measures, which can be applied locally or throughout Attica.

The scientific committee, through a video conference, met tonight and is expected to suggest to Kyriakos Mitsotakis the implementation of measures, such as maximum number of people per table in restaurants that do not exceed four, social events, such as weddings, christenings, funerals, with a maximum of 20 people, as well as closure of large concert halls.

Final decisions will be made by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and are expected to be announced tomorrow by government spokesman Stelios Petsas for implementation from next Wednesday.
